Sela Harmony Stainless Steel Handpans are completely handmade, perfectly tuned and made of a stainless steel alloy. Handpans made of stainless steel have a much longer sustain than models made of nitrided steel and are therefore particularly suitable for slow, relaxing and meditative playing. At the same time, they are very easy to clean and well suited for beginners, as their fast, sensitive response requires less effort to play. Sela Harmony Stainless Steel Handpans have a matt gold finish, which gives them a noble, high-quality look. Sela offers the largest selection of different scales in this category.
The tuning D Amara (basic frequency 440 Hz) is one of the most popular handpan scales of all. The central note in the middle of the handpan is D3, around which the notes A3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4 and C5 are arranged in a circle. Thanks to its bright-sounding D minor scale, the D Amara can be used to play a wide variety of melodies, ranging from calm and meditative to melancholy, powerful and cheerful. Particularly practical: an overview of the scale with the individual tone fields is lasered onto the underside of the handpan.
Each Sela Handpan comes with a bag made of tear-resistant nylon fabric, which, thanks to its good lining, provides optimal protection during transport. It can be carried either by hand with the two handles or comfortably as a backpack with the adjustable shoulder straps. A practical outer compartment offers enough space for small accessories such as a metronome.
