KAWAI K15 ATX-L
Anytime Piano
Day and night
The impact of the hammers on the strings causes the strings and the soundboard to vibrate. This allows the warm, natural and unmistakable sound of an acoustic piano to unfold.
On an excellent piano, pianists play with spontaneity and passion. However, this enthusiastic form of expression is not always welcome. There are always situations and environments where playing the piano is experienced as disruptive. For example, when children practice scales while other family members want to watch TV in peace. Even playing a quiet Prelude by Chopin can - after a shorter or longer period of time - disturb the neighbours.
The AnyTimeX3 models are equipped with a noise suppression for the acoustic part of the keyboard and high-quality digital piano technology. These options allow the pianist to always enjoy the playing feeling of a traditional piano and not to disturb anyone by using headphones. Included with the delivery of the AnyTimeX3 models are the newly developed Kawai headphones SH-9. It is specially tuned to the integrated sound generation of the instruments.
Sound
When the acoustic components are switched off, KAWAI AnyTimeX3 pianos use a unique digital technology developed at the Shigeru Research and Development Laboratory in Ryuyo, Japan, where the KAWAI SK-EX and EX concert grand pianos are also handcrafted. In an anodised room free of audio reflections, the full and balanced sound of a KAWAI SK-EX and EX concert grand piano was recorded by renowned sampling specialists from around the world. From these recordings, a kind of fingerprint of the pianos was created, which accurately imitates the harmonic and dynamic structures. Harmonic Imagingâ„¢ technology reproduces the extensive dynamic range of the original grand piano sounds and also provides the basis for even higher quality instrumental sounds.
IHSS Sensor System
The volume of the individual notes on an acoustic piano depends on the speed with which the hammers strike the strings. A gentle touch causes the hammer to move slowly and produces only a low volume. A quick touch causes the hammer to move quickly, producing a high volume. The AnyTimeX3 instruments reproduce this exact behaviour by means of sensors integrated into the piano action, which precisely recognise the movements of each hammer. Whether playing fast passages in which the same keys are struck several times in succession or quiet pieces with slowly struck keys: KAWAI´s Integrated Hammer Sensing System (IHSS) gives the pianist excellent musical expression, enabling the finest nuances to be played. IHSS works considerably more precisely than previously available key sensor technologies.
Digital comfort
The AnyTimeX3 control unit is located under the playing table. Digital functions expand the possibilities of the AnyTimeX3 piano. For this purpose, functions such as transposition, tuning, a metronome and a selection of high-quality sounds are available, allowing you to play a wide variety of musical styles. The two front-mounted headphone connections are ideal for use in music schools, for example, while other connection options provide the opportunity for a wide range of other applications.
Progressive Harmonic Imaging (PHI)
Progressive Harmonic Imaging is the name of the piano sound generation used in the K-15 ATX3L. The difference in the force of the keyboard stroke not only changes the volume, but also the individual tonal character of each individual note. The Progressive Harmonic Imaging technology reproduces the harmonic structures absolutely naturally in every dynamic range ... from pianissimo to fortissimo.
88 Key Sampling
The beautiful sounds of the SK-EX and EX concert grand pianos are the heart of the new K-15 ATX3L model from Kawai. All 88 keys of these extraordinary instruments have been carefully recorded and analyzed.
The individual recording of each key in this way and their reproduction guarantee an excellent sound image with the character of the recorded concert grand pianos. Playing these sounds is a unique experience.
Acoustic piano versatility
The AnytimeX3 models have a selection of acoustic piano sounds that are ideally suited for playing a wide variety of music styles.
Extensive sound selection
In addition to the realistic acoustic piano sounds, the models of the AnytimeX3 series also have a selection of other sounds, such as electric piano, Hammond organ or strings, which offer the musician the possibility of great musical versatility.
Save energy
